Ed McTeer

"My name is Ed McTeer, I am 72 years of age. I was raised with Christian values, my parents were Episcopal and I was confirmed into the church at 12 yrs. of age. In 1960 I switched religion to Presbyterian where upon I became and served as a deacon for several years at the First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort. Years passed by, for whatever reasons church fell by the wayside. My faith in God never waivered and I fully, with all my heart feel that Christ is the answer to all things. Eventually He will be the final judge. My Son-in-law Philip Dixon and grandson Riley invited me to join them at the 2010 Real Men's Event hosted by their church Hibernia Baptist of Jacksonville, at Skeeter Ranch. The Fellowship was terrific, watching my 10 yr. old grandson goin! g from one event after another left me in awe of his youth. For me, the real highlight of this magnificent event was the guest speaker, Dr. Johnny Hunt. It was not a sermon, but a powerful testimony of his life given to Jesus Christ. It moved me to realize my own shortcomings. On this bright afternoon with Philip and Riley at my side, I went to Dr. Hunt and Jesus Christ to recognize my failures and to ask Jesus for forgiveness of my sins and vow to do better. Bump forward 1 yr. next to my God, my wife is my strength. We attend Saint Helena's Baptist Church regularly. I read my bible and I try to be a decent person in life. God has blessed me in many ways and I can only hope I do justice in His eyes."

"I have been coming to this event for three years and i always leave with a blessing. Not only are the events fun but i always leave with a reminder of what God expects from christian men. The staff were very friendly and the food was plentiful. Jimmy Scrogins is a great tool for the lord and he gave a inspirational message for men to take charge in leading there homes and there churches in the path that god has set for us. i look forward to next year and God bless the men that give there time and effort to make this possible.
